Sort:

Dubrovomania is alive and well with the latest offerings by ChessBazaar.  Here is their version of the 1950 Dubrovnik Olympiad set: One set is offered in Boxwood and Sheeshamwood (AKA Golden Rosewood) and the other set in Boxwood with the dark pieces stained in Crimson. Both sets quickly sold out but will be avaiable in the next 7-10m days according to ChessBazaar.

Kings measure 3.6" (92 mm) in height and Pawns at 1 7/8" in height.

The 34 piece set (extra queens) is weighted and their bottoms are covered in green felt. Great looking hand carved Knights and the European style Bishops with opposite color ball tops, pawns with thick bulky bases, elegant Kings and Queens along with handsome Rooks.

Sets look good on either a board with 2 1/8"  or 2 1/4" squares.

Beautiful set!  I think the aspect ratio on the first image is off though.

Hi Robb:
Thanks for the pic of your older version Dubrovnik set.

ROBB_CHESS

LOL... It's a hard call... Maybe I'll get the new set too by Noj and I can mix and match :) I like the older knights also. Just straight up... This set is absolutely my top 3 favs of my moderns.

Thanks for your Romanian set pictures. I have this beautiful set also. It looks like your red pieces are lacquered. Is this correct?  Where did you get your sets?
