Great idea, Nytik. That would end any confusion regarding the non-provoking nature of the second post! Also, my content wouldn't be littered with threads I don't want, or even worse, disagree with the title.
I've also inherited "stupid" threads lately...

I remember, weeks ago, those campaigning for users to lose the ability to delete threads, because big discussions were being lost. And, sure, I support the idea. But not the way it has been implemented.
As I'm sure you're aware, these days if the OP (original poster) of a thread deletes his post, it just deletes that one, and nothing else. Great. There's just one problem - everyone thinks the second post is the first one. It even shows up on your content.
This leads to confusion and is all just a waste of time. Here's a list of the threads I've inherited lately:

All within the month of July. This can quickly become a nuisance.
So, how to remedy this newly created problem? It's simple. Firstly, keep the idea that if the OP deletes his post, ONLY that post goes. However, the following happens: the original post stays, with the members name (so that we keep content to the correct players, not shovel it onto others) and in the post box it simply says 'Post Deleted'.
Sound simple? That's because it is! If it would be too difficult to implement this for just the original post (though I don't see how it could be) then this could easily apply to all deleted posts.
Thoughts?
