How to Join the Tournament

Follow these steps to join the practice tournament and the actual tournament. Remember to join the practice tournament to run through the steps below to mitigate chances of technical problems on tournament day. 

*You must have played at least 5 games to join a tournament. Please make sure you do this.

1. Login into chess.com

2. Hover/Click over the play menu

3. Click on Live Chess

4. You will now see a chess board on the left of the screen. On the right, you will see a menu with two tabs: Play and Tournaments. Click on tournaments. You will see a screen similar to the one below.

5. On the day of the tournament, you will need to click on your respective tournament based on your rating section (See the other News on how to determine that). After doing that, you will see a screen similar to the one below with minor differences.

6. One hour before the tournament starts, players will be able to join the tournament. It is recommended that players join 15-20 minutes in advance.
