How to Make a Move Without Calculation?

Dear Chess Friends!

Chess is a complete information game — nothing is hidden — but far too complex to be calculated all the way to the end. Our brains are amazing, but they have limits. So how do famous chess players decide when they can’t see the whole picture?

That’s where the intuitive evaluation steps in.

This Sunday, I’m going to be hosting a free online workshop on this subject — pulling from practical experience, classical examples, and the kind of positions where intuition can lead us better than brute-force calculation.

🗓 Date: 04/13
Time: 11 a.m. EDT, 4 p.m. UK time, 5 p.m. CET

During this session, you’ll learn:

  • Decide when it's okay to sacrifice material without calculating everything
  • Make quick but solid decisions like where to retreat your king or how to place your rooks
  • Understand when to change the nature of the position — or keep it
  • Balance initiative vs material, or activity vs pawn weaknesses
  • Train your intuition through real examples from master games

Why should you attend?
This is the sort of understanding where world-beaters and wannabes break down. You’ll leave with practical decision-making tools, rooted in logic yet adaptable in use. And you’ll find that intuition in chess is something you can train.

Register now and receive the Zoom-link before the event! Your participation is absolutely free, you just need to register here: https://chesslance.com/masterclass/

See you at the workshop,
FM Viktor Neustroev
