Dear Chess Friends!

This Sunday, I invite you to a new workshop dedicated to a classic and highly effective strategy: the attack on immobile pawns.

Those are the pawns that cannot move or escape, they are static weaknesses. They sit, they wait… and they can be destroyed. With the right setup, a player can methodically build up pressure and launch an attack that’s almost impossible to beat. Surprisingly often, the key to breaking through lies in your own pawn — slow, steady, and decisive.

In this workshop, we’ll break down this idea and explore the plans and typical patterns used by top players throughout history.

🗓 Date: 04/20
Time: 11 a.m. EDT, 4 p.m. UK time, 5 p.m. CET

During this session, you’ll learn:

  • How to recognize and target an immobile pawn as a long-term weakness
  • Which conditions favor a successful pawn assault
  • The role of piece exchanges, pawn breaks, and buildup
  • Typical strategic positions like the Carlsbad structure or King’s Indian setups
  • How to combine pressure on a pawn with a direct threat to the king

Why should you attend?
Understanding how to exploit static weaknesses is important for converting strategic advantages into wins. This isn’t about fancy tactics or sharp lines — it’s about learning timeless methods that work across openings and rating levels. You’ll gain patterns you can apply in your very next game, and a new appreciation for what it means to truly dominate a position.

Register now and receive the Zoom-link before the event! Your participation is absolutely free, you just need to register here: https://chesslance.com/masterclass/

See you at the workshop,
