Nations League Resumes vs England on Saturday!
Hello folks,
We've got a busy slate of five matches this weekend, in the Nations League, LCWL Chess960 Cup, and LCPAL Bullet Cup!
On Saturday July 17, starting at 11 am Pacific, 2 pm Eastern, we will face England in a pair of Nations League matches! These matches vs England are undoubtedly our most important of the weekend- victory in these will virtually guarantee a top-3 finish in the Nations League (and membership prizes with it!) barring any shocking results in the next two rounds after that. Full match times and links:
- Chess.com Nations League Round 5 Rapid: vs England, Saturday July 17 at 11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern
- Chess.com Nations League Round 5 Blitz: vs England, Saturday July 17 at 12:15pm Pacific, 3:15pm Eastern
We will then play the Philippines in Round 4 of the LCWL Chess960 Cup later on Saturday July 17, starting at 7:20 pm Pacific, 10:20 pm Eastern. This is a rather poor match time choice by the LCWL (we will make sure East Coast time preferences are taken into account in the future!), but with nothing on the line in these matches, these are simply fun matches for those interested in playing some Chess960! Full match times and links:
- LCWL Chess960 Cup Round 4 Blitz: vs Philippines, Saturday July 17 at 7:20pm Pacific, 10:20pm Eastern
- LCWL Chess960 Cup Round 4 Rapid: vs Philippines, Saturday July 17 at 8pm Pacific, 11pm Eastern
Finally, on Sunday July 18 at 2 pm Pacific, 5 pm Eastern, we will face Argentina in Round 5 of the LCPAL Bullet Cup (time control 2+1). We're off to a decent 2W-1L start so far in this competition, and a win against Argentina would make it a great start to the season! Match link:
See you all this weekend!
