S6 Sweet 16 Results + Elite 8 Matchups
Hello participants and spectators! After the 2nd week of qualifiers turned out to be a disaster, the very first round of season 6 knockouts did not disappoint at all as the competition lived its golden old days again with no forfeits and pure enthusiasm by the competitors and the audience.
I thank you all for your patience. Before tuning in to the main thing, the results, I would like to give a bit of reasoning to explain why the results were delayed. At the first touch, one of our judges, @1cbb couldn't come online for 4-5 days due to a serious illness. But he immediately did his job with precision after coming back online. At the second touch, @alphaous, as he said, is not really allowed to access his computer for longer periods of time and was away from home on Saturday and decided to take a rest on Sunday. Since it's been more than a week, I took his place and judged the remaining matchups which he hadn't judged.
Alright then, enough of talking. Let's dive into the results.
In Group A, we had @Taken taking on the newbie and underdog @ChastityWhiteRose. Chastity did not have a bad submission considering the fact that he had just entered the field of blogging, but Taken was just on another level. Taken took this home with a clean sweep over his opponent (3-0).
In Group B, we had a top blogger and a heavy favorite to win it all @Rinckens taking on @Excheqquer. I don't think the results are going to surprise anybody, as we have another clean sweep, Rinckens won this matchup by 3-0.
In Group C, we had @KevinSmithIdiot taking on @Kyotobi20. Without a doubt, Kyotobi posted his best personal blog yet. Both the blogs had loopholes and strong points, but Kevin won this with a score of 2-1 over Kyotobi. It was close!
In Group D, @NiGuy101 withdrew, so @VoyageOfTheLost came in as a substitution and now stood between @iiHazel and his dreams. No offense to any competitor of this group, but this was probably the weakest group of Sweet 16 in terms of the quality of the blogs. But one blog was simply better than the other, and @iiHazel keeps his dream alive by registering a thumping win over Voyage by 3-0.
Group E put @Silent_Assassin against @BugMeLater. I think this might become a bit controversial but upon reflecting, I don't think anybody is going to disagree with the result. @BugMeLater, with a better topic and more original piece of writing, registered a clean sweep by 3-0 over his opponent.
Group F had top blogger @VOB96 taking on the underdog @Chisti123. @Chisti123 had done some excellent research with those images and did an amazing job with the editing and presentation. @VOB96 did not disappoint at all and posted a banger blog with probably the most engaging piece of writing with excellent formatting and editing. But in the end, every judge decided that one blog was simply better than the other, and Vob won this by registering a 3-0 clean sweep over her opponent.
In Group G, we had @JustGettingThisOffMyChess facing @nautilusmisc. No surprises here, JustGetting broke past his limits and posted a banger blog, and won the matchup by 3-0.
And we have the final group, Group H. Phew, this was unarguably the closest matchup. We had the BlogChamps OG @Yeoh_Kai_Bo_Official taking on another favorite to win it all, @OnyxOrca. Pftt, I had no idea where this would go. Neither blog was perfect and stood out among the two, but in the end, only one has to advance. Congratulations to Yeoh for pulling off an upset as he won this matchup by 2-1.
Congratulations to our winners, you all have advanced to the second round, i.e., the elite 8. And to those who lost, don't be sad, take this as a learning experience. We hope you return next season with much more fire!
To those who advanced, the competition needs confirmation from you. Comment "I confirm my participation in the next round" to ensure that you're gonna post.
