Hello and welcome to the first edition of "Club ownership: the ultimate ideas, experiences, and solutions from two very successful club owners."

what is a club owner?

"A club owner is a chess.com user who has decided to start their own club! They built up some courage, made some specs, took some deep breaths, and published the club. And nothing happens... until something happens. someone joins. They freak out with excitement! another person joins. and another. Then... someone leaves. But two people join. The club is growing. People come, people go. But the one person who is always there is the club owner- fighting to the death to get more members. it's hard. people are mean sometimes. but you continue trying. you set some goals for your club and make a staff. and things... they grow from there. "

"Being a club owner is a amazing thing. You spend hours thinking of the perfect name, the right look, the perfect picture and description. Then, someone joins,and then someone else, and more and more. One thing I have learned is to roll with the punches, keep working. You will have to make a few hard decisions, and you will make a few enemies, heck I have quite a few people who don't like me. But, for good reason. For instance, there was a FM who joined my club, and he was being a bully and trying to get SA. Long story short, he was banned, and the members took my side on the matter. That is when I realized, I am doing something right! If all these people are willing to stand up for me against a FM, then they actually like what I'm doing! It's a amazing feeling to have people who would stand up for you. It would be impossible to put it into words. "
