In only two tournaments, I successively broken through three barriers at once: from 1976 all the way to 2207. As of writing, I currently sit at 2132 (dropped 77 points at a local weekend tournament ) Hope you enjoy the following games and may you have luck reaching your next milestones! I picked out a couple of which I won and lost.

If you were wondering why the thumbnail looks familiar, it's because I got inspiration from @Roger436! He "taught" me how to make these kinds of thumbnails and I really appreciate him for doing so. So go check his blog out too here! He's also a top blogger and writes excellent material

Game One: Lack of experience

This is why we should prepare many different lines for a game! You never know what your opponent might play. In this game, I made quite a basic mistake of underpreperation. I soon got into a very well known position where I had a total lack of knowledge, and soon inaccuracies turned into mistakes and the game was already lost for me.

Game Two: Tenacious defense

A very tough game. Early in the opening I missed my chance to get a clear advantage and traded into the endgame. Tortured mercilessly for 50 or so moves, I didn't give up and sat there determined to pull the game even. When he stumbled- I was too quick to give him any chances of survival. This game shows how anything is possible, and with one false step you can find yourself accustomed to the role of a defender. This is exactly what happened in the game, as my opponent was emotionally impacted by the shock of the exchange sacrifise on move 61 and later blundered horribly.

A hunter must stalk his prey until the hunter becomes the hunted. Then the prey becomes the predator. Then the predator and hunter fight.

Deep in thought in my game.

Game 3: Fighting with the titans

My luck never was very good. It was only round 4 when I faced the titan of the tournament, top seed GM Gawain Jones, who had a FIDE rating of 2670. He was around 350 points higher than the next competitor! Nevertheless, I was very honoured to be able to play him. It's not everyday that you get to play a super-GM!

Game 4: Quick and painless

It seems so simple when done, but all it took for Black to lose the game was one blunder. The opening didn't grant White anything too substantial, but some prodding around caused Black to falter badly and get overwhelmed on the queenside.

Well, I will conclude my blog post there. Hope you enjoyed the games! I'm aiming to break 2300 FIDE one day and claim the FM title. It is hard, but very doable with hard work and effort!

Once again, hope you liked the games and (doubtfully) learned something from them! If there are any errors in grammar or stuff like that, please tell me in the comment section below so that I can edit them. See you!

Hello there! I'm posting blogs regularly, though recently I'm quite busy, what with online ool and extracurricular activities happy.png. However I'm still trying my best to post around 1-3 blogs a week! I hope you enjoy them. Some blogs are purely informational and instructive while others are more for light entertainment value.

Pleasant reading!
