TEAM MAGNUS OR TEAM HANS?
If you don't know about the chess cheating scandal going on... then... uhhh... there's a freaking Wikipedia article about it... which means it's a pretty big deal.
I was hoping that this post I wrote would be the last and only time I'd make such a post. That would turn out to be false. There have been a lot of developments since the initial withdrawal and tweet that shocked the world. From Hans' passionate interview, Magnus' statement, Chess.com's report, and Hans' postgame interview that left Chris Yoo "disrespected at every level"... lots of developments. Probably the most dramatic thing that hasn't happened is Hans being caught red-handed cheating.
It's sad to see that the chess world is sooooo divided over the issue. Everyone has to be classified as either "Team Hans" or "Team Magnus". The way I approach politics (yikes) is that everyone has their opinion, and you're not changing anyone's mind. So if you are in love with Donald Trump, and hate Biden with a passion because of iNfLaTiOn, then I'm not going to persuade you the other way. That's how I feel about this drama. There are people who insist that Hans is guilty... but there are those who HATE Magnus with a passion.
I just wish we could keep an open mind. It's possible that Hans cheated OTB and against Magnus (it would be extremely impressive... but it's possible). It's also possible that Magnus is just a "crybaby" as the haters like to say. At first, I thought that we were just going to have to live with the reality that we would be divided on this issue like literally any controversy. However, I think I have found a solution that will unite the chess world, and we can all be one being again... it's going to take will and determination to persuade everyone to join your side... but hear me out...

You're right!! Magnus haters vs. Hans haters... why settle with bickering? Why not settle over the board?!
The match is going to be next week, Thursday, 10/27 at 7:00 PM EST (subject to change, which will be communicated to potential participants). All you have to do is join one of the teams, there'll be a link for the team match, and support your side!

You have to choose one or the other to join the match. I will be an impartial spectator/organizer. I will probably broadcast the match on my Youtube channel, maybe my Twitch as well! 
I hope that this will once and for all reunite the chess world, and we can focus on playing good games and learning about chess rather than whining about why your player is in the right.
