Hello everyone. Every tournament I play, I am going to create a blog where I am going to analyze all my games in order. This particular tournament is very special to me because I always feel in a very welcoming environment where chess enthusiasts battle their minds on a chessboard. It is a great tournament directed by not less great Chuck Ensey and I feel wonderful playing this event almost every year(Except 2019).

To begin with, I used to play a lot of tournaments before hitting junior year in high school, and unfortunately, after that my school became much more challenging and rigorous which made me turn my attention from chess and focus on school. Things got much worse when I played CA Superstates in 2018(after not playing chess for 6 months) and lost 40 rating points when getting defeated by a 1300 and 1800 player. This career fiasco completely broke me and made me think that I am never playing tournaments again. However, my confidence boosted up when I had some wins in small local tournaments and I went back to get the 3rd place in SuperStates 2019(which also was my last SuperStates since I graduated high school in 2019). Afterward, I decided to get back into the game and picked up a couple of books to get back into the track. I had several successful tournament where I brought my rating points back, and here I am with a revival of love toward chess. My goal is to break 2100 USCF and eventually lead to 2200 in order to fulfill my dream.
