Road to FM: Follow My Journey!

Hello everyone! It's been a while, and I'm glad to be back! I was a little swamped with work and after a couple of unsuccessful drafts, I ended up scrapping my original blog, which is why I missed last week's blog! But today, I'm going to make up for it with a brand new series!

What is this new series?

It's called Road to FM, and it'll be like a journal of my progress. My goal for the next few years is to improve at chess and to hopefully obtain the FM or Fide Master title. In order to do so, I would have to reach a FIDE rating of 2300, which means I've got about 200 FIDE rating points to go. I'd also like to give credit to @AttilaTurzo's Road to the Grandmaster Title and @DanielGuel's My Journey To Getting Better At Chess for giving me some inspiration.

What can you, my wonderful reader, expect from this series?

You can expect a lot of blogs on various topics. While blogs may be shorter and less "high-quality", there are a lot of things you can look forward to! Here's why I think many of you will enjoy this new series:

1. More posts! Since I am very busy, I am having a hard time sitting down for 2-3 hours and providing a super-duper good blog. I mean, I'd love to, but it can sometimes take too long! I'm also starting to stream more and post more YouTube videos, so you expect to see more of those in these posts as well! It'll be kind of like a slight decrease in quality, for 2-3x the quantity!

Edit 3/12/2021: So far, there actually hasn't been much change: I've been consistently pumping out blogs once a week with the same quality. Now, I'm actually writing less often but publishing blogs that are much longer and of the utmost quality that I can manage. Thanks all!

2. A wide variety of topics. I'll be writing about everything from opening theory to tournament preparation to tactics practice to psychology in chess. I hope you will find some that are interesting to you!

3. A more personalized blog experience. I am open to suggestions! If you'd like to see something, post it down below in the comments section! You can also join my club if you'd like to get free advice and get a chance to play me during my live streams!  Just recently, I played 8 of my followers in my first-ever simul! Feel free to check that out if you'd like to

Thanks everyone for your support! I hope you will enjoy this new series and hopefully learn something from it! Until next time!
