
Every Chess Piece Explained
Hello every one, today I will be explaining every chess piece, fairy chess peice, pawns, special pawns, and different types of Bricks on chess.com.
We will start with the pieces with an english letter abbreviation(pieces and bricks) going in alphabetical order via their one letter abbreviations.
A-Amazon
The Amazon is the strongest piece on chess.com being worth 12 points. It's movements combine that of a Bishop, Rook and Knight.
B-Bishop
The Bishop is a chess piece from the current orthodox chess. It moves however many squares diagnally as long as it doesn't jump any pieces. It is worth 3 points.
C-Camel
The Camel's movement is the same as the Knight's but instead of a 2-1 movement, it moves in a elongated 3-1 movement. It is worth 3 points.
D-1 Point Queen
The 1 Point Queen moves the same as the Queen by combining the rook and bishop but is only worth 1 point when captured(in game of point scenerios).
E-Chanceller
The Chanceller combines the movement of the Knight and the Rook. It is worth 7 points.
F-Ferz
The Ferz moves one square diagnally. It is worth 1 point.
G-Grasshopper
The Grasshopper moves by jumping over 1 piece horizontally, vertically or diagnally and landing in the square DIRECTLY after that piece. It is worth 3 Points.
H-Archbishop
The Archbishop combines the movement of a Knight and a Bishop. It is worth 7 points.
I-Alfil
The Alfil moves exactly 2 squares diagnally jumping over any pieces in between. It is worth one point.
J-Alfil Rider
The Alfil Rider moves by repeating the move of the Alfil repeatedly and stopping whenever you want. It CANNOT keep moving in the one direction if it's movements are blocked by another piece. So you can move 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 squares diagnally at once. It is worth 3 points.
K-King
The King moves 1 square horizontally, vertically, or diagnally. It is worth 3 points when not as a royal piece.
L-Camel Rider
The Camel Rider makes the move of a camel repeated until a piece blocks it's way. You can decide which space it lands on. It is worth 7 points.
M-General
It combines the movement of the King and Knight. It is worth 5 points.
N-Knight
The Knight moves in the 2-1 L shaped way. It moves 2 spaces horizontally or vertically and then goes one space vertically or horizontally depending on which way the first move is in. If the first move is vertical, the second is horizontal and vice versa. A Knight is worth 3 points.
O-Knight Rider
A Knight Rider repeats the movement of the Knight over and over. It is worth 7 points.
Q-Queen
A Queen combines the movement of a bishop and a rook. It is worth 9 points.
R-Rook
A rook moves as many spaces as it wants horizontally or vertically without hopping over pieces. A rook is worth 5 points.
S-Dabbabba
A Dabbabba moves 2 squares horizontally or vertically, jumping over pieces in between. They are worth 1 points.
T- Dabbabba Rider
A Dabbabba RIder repeatedly makes the move of a dabbabba, when a occupied square is on one of it's landing squares. A Dabbabba rider is worth 3 points.
U-Xianqi Horse
The Xiangqi Horse moves one move horizontally or vertically, then moves one square diagnally outwards. It does not jump over pieces and when a piece is on the horizontal or vertical square directly adjacent to the Xiangqi Horse, it cannot jump that way. A Xiangqi Horse is worth 2 points.
V-Wildebeest
A Wildebeest combines the movement of a Knight and a Camel It is worth 5 points.
W-Wazir
A Wazir moves one square horizontally or vertically. It is worth 1 point.
x-Transparent Brick
A transparent Brick is the same as a brick but transparent. Otherwise it has the exact same aspects as the regular brick.
X-Brick
A brick is a piece that cannot be captures, or moved. It is worth one point when you are playing custom setup chess, but cannot be captures, and have no points worth that way.
Y-Alibaba
An Alibaba combines the movement of a Alfil and Dabbabba. It is worth 3 points.
Z-Alibaba rider
An Alibaba Rider repeats the movement of an Alibaba untill blocked. It is worth 6 points.
Pieces, Pawns and Bricks with Greek letter abbreviations, going by the greek alphabet order.
α-Berolina Pawn*
A Berolina pawn usually moves diagnally but captures going forward.
β-Soldier*
The Soldier always moves forward, no matter capturing or just moving.
γ-Stone General*
The Stone General always moves forward diagnally capturing or regular moving.
δ-Sergeant*
The Sergeant can move forward straight or diagnally whither way no matter capturing or not.
Δ-Dragon Bishop
The Dragon Bishop combines the movement of the Xiangqi Horse and the Bishop. It is worth 7 points.
θ-Duck
The Duck is the same as the brick in all ways but one. When the game rule "Duck Chess" is on, one of the ducks(or just the duck) will have to be moved to an empty square on the board. Otherwise is just like a brick.
