How to play against Magnus Carlsen?
Greetings everyone! I am really pleased to introduce this blog section, where I will post some of my views about the professional chess world and training tips for those who want to improve. These posts will have a quicker and lighter approach than my articles.
Today I would like to share a few words about the coming visit of Magnus Carlsen to Brazil. I was really surprised when I heard the rumours that he might play a traditional rapid tournament here. But he is indeed coming to Caxias do Sul on March 4th to play in two tournaments and many other activities. I was fortunate enough to be invited to both the closed and the open tournaments he will play. So there is a good chance I will have to face the World Champion in the board (I think the closed tournament is in a tie-break format, so there is a chance I won't play against him), possibly more than once! That is really an honor to any chessplayer!
Playing agains World Champions is a totally different thing. I have played against Karpov and Anand before, idols of my childhood and teenage years, but Magnus is from the younger generation. I hope to put up a good fight! I bring you next some of my games against Karpov and Anand.
