On the Bookshelf: Soltis' David vs Goliath Chess
Andrew Soltis' book David vs Goliath is a book on an interesting and rarely thought of subject. How can one upset the apple cart? How can any chess player hope to beat an opponent much higher rated than themselves?
Indeed, many of the examples given in the book are real David vs Goliath situations, such as Manuel Aaron- Max Euwe. Unknown vs former World Champion. The winner is clear, right? And yet the heavyweight Euwe was toppled, and even though he was past his prime this was a remarkable upset.
Soltis offers up a few very noteworthy rules to live by that could help you achieve such a upset too! Having been a Goliath in a game or two, I know that what he says is true You can find more about his approach in this book and the aforementioned principles by reading my review at this link or by clicking the button below.
As always thanks for reading!
