My Lucky Finish in Titled Tuesday November 2, 2021
“I’d rather have lucky generals than good ones.” More than a hundred years later, Eisenhower reaffirmed this point by saying: “I’d rather have a lucky general than a smart general. They win battles.”
Winning Titled Tuesdays is way more difficult than it looks! I was fortunate to win some in a clear decisive way, but in a field filled with many of the world best players winning sometimes has to involve some luck – which was the story for my win of the Nov 2nd Titled Tuesday.
Finishing with 9.5 / 11 is a decent score – but before the last round it was Zhigalko who was leading alone with 9/10 playing great chess.
This time I have analyzed my decisive 11th round game and also the tournament leader key moment that allowed me to win – enjoy!
