Pragg & Hikaru's New Blitz Weapon In 2024

Hello chess friends,

I am back with a new training video on Pragg & Hikaru's new blitz weapon in 2024!

15-20 years ago, I noticed that my chess trainer, GM Ian Rogers, had played the Trompowsky (1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5) in many of his games with excellent results - perhaps inspired by the original Trompowsky expert, the creative GM Julian Hodgson.

I started to play the Tromp myself in 2008-09, with pretty good results, as the positions were quite original and creative, and my opponents often didn't know how to handle the arising middlegames.

So when I saw Pragg and Hikaru beating many of the world's top blitz and classical players with the Trompowsky, it brought back some memories

Here is my training video explaining the details from White's POV:

You can subscribe to my YouTube channel here.

This video is in the same style as the training videos I create for my private students each week. If you enjoyed it, you'll love being one of my private students! (But there are only a few spots left.)

The full PGN is only for my private students, but here's a sample of the PGN, with my analysis of Praggnanandhaa-Keymer, Biel blitz 2024 from the end of the video:

See you in the following training!

Once I reach my limit, I won't accept any more private students.
