Four Simple Endgame Studies

For today's post, I will share four nice endgame studies from old times! This time I won't give away the theme so that you have to work harder to solve them  Enjoy!

That one was not too hard, if you have good combinative vision.
The next puzzle is more about strategically understanding the play.

This next one is quite cute too. Can you outmaneuver their rook with your bishop?

Let's conclude with a classic example by Troitzky:

Share your favorite bishop checkmates in the comments below!

Now I'd like to tell you about something else that's really cool!

On my Facebook profile, I've recently been having large discussions about different chess openings.

You can see for yourself how, by bringing chess enthusiasts together, we are able to learn from each other's great ideas, come up with new ones of our own, and save a lot of time figuring out everything by ourselves!

That's exactly what I do in my private Facebook group, 'The Chess Improvement Group' which goes much further again, through the chess material and direction I provide within the group!

For instance, once I got over 100 comments in my post asking about the Benko Gambit, I created a file based on the discussion and some deep analysis that others generously shared with me. I expanded it with my own explanations, ideas, analysis, and relevant games. The screenshot below is a sample of the file I shared in my group:

I believe this 'Forum' style of learning - social learning if you prefer - is the most effective for overall improvement, as you are not just learning from my daily chess material, but also from the great contributions by others in the group. We have many titled players, including several IMs, a correspondence IM and very recently a correspondence SIM also joined our community!
