In Singapore, Ding, reigning world chess champion was playing Gukesh, world chess champion challenger. But in my last blog we were still on game 3; today we will be looking at games 4 to 14, commentary and images of the players included.

GAME 4: (after rest day)

Would they come back after there rest day and play for the win? Or would they just agree to a draw? We will soon find out. Follow me as we discover what happened!

After that game, all I can say is wow!...there wasn't really one chance for either player to get ahead...but ok, they are still tied.

GAME 5:

Another draw??? Was this going to be a never ceasing drawn match? Well, another amazing game. Ding actually had an interesting position, but he wasn't able to win.

GAME 6:

Even though Gukesh didn't accept the 3-repetition draw, the game still ended in a draw....but it was a pretty crazy game. I'm sure Ding was surprised, but it wasn't enough for Gukesh to win.

GAME 7: (after rest day)

After another rest day. Will one player take the lead? Or will they just continue with the same insane draws? Well, let's find out together!!!

GAME 8:

Another insane draw...Ding had a chance to win and somehow Gukesh was able to pull through, all because of one pawn!!! Wow...well, they are still tied in the match.

GAME 9:

Another draw. That was almost a perfect game; there were no mistakes, and Ding found a brilliant!!!

GAME 10: (after rest day)

Will somebody strike today? Will it be Ding, or will it just be a draw? Let's hope this is the day things get interesting!!!

Ahh...well, that was a nicely played game, but they traded far too fast, and there weren't any complications. So, they are still tied, and maybe they will stay tied to the end.

GAME 11:

Due to a knight move, Gukesh got Ding under time pressure...and Ding slipped up and lost due to an amazing tactic from his opponent. Now Gukesh is leading the tournament with just 3 games to go...will Ding even be able to tie this match up again?

GAME 12:

Ding somehow ties the match up. It's amazing how he can play so well after losing. He just broke Gukesh's defenses, and there was nothing to do...2 games left.

GAME 13: (after rest day)

Ding somehow is saved from a lost game. Gukesh plays too fast and let's slip a game that he could have won. Now only one game is left. Will this go to tiebreaks? Or will Ding take the lead and win with white, or Gukesh take the lead and win with black?

GAME 14:

This last game was intense, and Gukesh won all because of Ding's nerves. Gukesh admitted he would have played to the very end. He thought that Ding might somehow mess up, and he did. So we have the youngest World Chess Champion ever!

Final Thoughts:

Gukesh became the youngest World Chess Champion, and he did it in a stunning way. Check out this quote from a chess.com user:

Stunning right? Well, I think Gukesh is a well-deserving champion, and I hope he will prove in the years to come that he is actually a really good player. The Gukesh Era has started, hopefully he motivates you to play better chess and try out new ideas, even though they may seem strange. I also hope that you have enjoyed this blog happy; it took a long time to write, and I hope it is one of my best blogs. Follow to get more content like this, and thanks a lot everyone!
