World Chess Championship 2024

The stakes are high this year in Singapore. Ding, the current world champion, battles Gukesh, an 18-year-old prodigy. If Gukesh wins, he will be the youngest world champion ever!

In my voting, 68 people voted for Gukesh and 33 for Ding. Check the forum for how people voted here: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general-chess-discussion/ding-or-gukesh-102095631

What will happen? We´ll look at the amazing games below, with my commentary... enjoy!

Games:

So yeah, the first game was crazy, but the next game was just going to show how well both of these players really are.

Well, that was a really fast 23 move draw, but Gukesh probably was happy with a draw; seeing that with white he had lost. So now let us look at the third game, the game before the rest day. Would Gukesh give it all he had to win this game and tie up the series?

This last game tied the match 1.5 to 1.5; they are on rest day tomorrow, but I hope to see more interesting and exciting games. Both players have played good chess, and they hopefully will continue to play well.

Gukesh said that in the first game the nerves got to him, so he lost. In the second game, both competitors played amazing chess, and the game ended in a draw. The third game for Ding was really hard; he couldn`t control his time usage, and in the end he lost on time, but in the position he was lost too. So best of luck to both players, and may the best win.
