Every Illumination Movie Ranked ( PLUS DESPICABLE ME 4 UPDATE )
Hello everyone and welcome back to Jetplane Movies! Today I will be ranking every Illumination movie from worst to best but before I do, let's talk about Despicable Me 4.
As you probably know, I am PSYCHED for DM4 ( I was on vacation so I still haven't seen it yet 🫥 ) and I am FREAKING out because of the new trailer...
This trailer reveals something VERY BIG for the movie's storyline: the Mega Minions. I believe that bringing in MINION SUPERHEROES is an AMAZING idea that could make this film 10 times more fun and entertaining. Minions are already so funny but with powers?!? Who KNOWS what could happen!

#13. The Secret Life Of Pets 2
Ok, I'm just gonna say it: this movie is the worst Illumination movie ever. The whole thing with the circus was just stupid and the fact that they changed the actor of Max was just plain dumb. Sure, I laughed a couple of times but the overall movie was not that good. Plus, the entire sideplot with Snowball and that Tiger was just......................... no.
#12. The Grinch
This movie was mid. I liked it but I kinda felt like The Grinch was too nice compared to the original. I haven't seen it in a while but from what I remember, he was too nice. ( That sounds so bad saying out loud 😂😂😂 ) Also the whole thing with the ox or whatever was kinda... weird. 😂

Good movie, good music, WAY better than the book but I feel like it was dragged out. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty good movie but I wish it was shorter. 😂😂😂

#10. The Secret Life Of Pets
This movie was such a good idea but they went about it a weird way. I thought it was going to be about Max having to get used to having another dog in the house but it was about him getting kidnapped by a little bunny... or something. ( I haven't seen it in a long time don't judge me 🤪 ) Overall, I thought the movie was good but not what I expected.

Yet again, a great idea but I thought the whole thing with the theater flooding was pretty dumb. It was still a good movie but not Illumination's best work.

This movie got way too much hate. It's an amazing film BUT, the ending was weak in my opinion. I feel like the writers got a little too lazy towards the end of production. 😂 Overall the movie was good but I think the last 10 minutes really brought its ranking down.
#7. Minions: The Rise Of Gru
The first 2 times I saw this movie I thought it was great. But when I saw it for a third time, I realized just how all over the place it was but then just recently, I watched it again, and I thought it was pretty good. But, I feel like this one took their signature minion madness to the next level in a really weird way with Chinatown and the kung fu and stuff. It was a good, just a little too weird for me.
( me over here watching cats with squid tentacles coming out of their mouths and eating humans )

Great movie, SOOOOOOO much better than the first one but a little dragged out I felt.

Really good movie, a little slow but still very funny with a great storyline.

One of the best Illumination movies ever, with great actors and just straight up fun all the way through.
