A Minecraft Movie News
Welp. We got the first footage of A Minecraft Movie... and it's not too good.
In one of my past blogs, I reacted to this trailer. In today's blog, you will be hearing OTHER people's reactions to the trailer and more news about the upcoming movie. Enjoy!
Let's just say... not everybody's happy about how this film looks.
Audiences are very mad and disappointed about many different things shown in the new teaser. Let's start with probably the biggest reason people are angry:
Steve.
Steve is supposed to be a skinny, young kid with a bright imagination... and Jack Black is literally the complete opposite of that. He's an old, overweight man... with too many grey hairs.
"Why are there REAL PEOPLE IN IT!?! THIS IS STUPID!!! You can't just throw a blue T-shirt on and say you're Steve." - Case oh
The second reason people are mad about how this movie looks is because of all the CGI and just the fact that it's live-action. Nobody wants a live-action Minecraft movie... and I think the directors realized that a little too late.
In a recent video on Minecraft's official Youtube channel:
The director of the upcoming film, Jared Hess, finnally responded to the AI/live action criticism: "We chose live action because it's not something that's been seen before on this scale. Creators have made such amazing stories, and short films, and content in the animation space, and this is the chance for us to do something different."
SOOOOOO many Minecraft fans are already remaking the trailer to be animated. Even though I understand Jared Hess's vison for the movie, I still don't think this will play out well on the big screen.
During Minecraft's recent livestream about the movie, a brand new clip was shown for the very first time:
I just can't take Jason Mamoa's long hair.
From all the official footage, interviews with the directors, and the absolutely bonkers Minecraft fans, sadly, I think this movie has a very low chance of becoming a hit.
I know this because I went through a Minecraft phase myself... and I'm pretty sure everyone has been down that road before.
