Jurassic World: Rebirth News ( PLUS: EVERY JURRASIC WORLD MOVIE RANKED )
The first Jurassic Park movie came out in 1993. It quickly became very popular and grossed $914 million worldwide on its theatrical run. Then 4 years later, Jurassic Park: The Lost World came out. Not many people praised that one OR Jurassic Park III.
But then, 14 years later, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard starred in the fourth installment to the Jurassic series: Jurassic World.
Jurassic World grossed EVEN MORE than the original with a threw the roof $1.671 billion dollars worldwide. Then came Fallen Kingdom ( $1.3 billion worldwide ) and Dominion ( $1 billion worldwide ). Both films did very well along with the others... I didn't think so, though.
In today's blog, I will be ranking every Jurassic World ( And the first Jurassic Park ) movie in order from worst to best AND talking about the upcoming REBOOT, Jurassic World: Rebirth.
Enjoy!
JURASSIC PARK (1993)
Wow.
I haven't seen it for probably 3 years now, but I remember enough of it to say this: it was freaking awesome.
Jurassic Park kicks off the very thrilling franchise that many, many movie fans know and love. If I'm going to be completely honest though, it was not as "terrifying" as everyone said it was going to be. When I first started it, I thought I was getting into a 2 and a half hour long HORROR movie or something. But the scariest part of the entire film was when a guy got eaten by a T-Rex on a toilet... and even that wasn't making me shake in my skivvies. ๐
Again, though, I have not seen this movie in a SUPER long time...
JURASSIC WORLD
Absolutely AWESOME. 50 times better than Jurassic Park. Better graphics, better actors, and just overall more believable. ( This same exact thing goes with the Twister films: the reboot was SO much better for all those same reasons ) My favorite part was when the babysitter was picked up by a pterodactyl and thrown up in the air just to get crunched up by an even bigger dinosaur that lived in the water!!! Fun stuff!!! ๐
The way they tied in this movie with the original Jurassic Park movie was done very well like when at the end of the film they brought out the T-Rex and when they uncovered the original Park and found the same Touring Jeep. ( It's giving Ghostbusters: Afterlife??? )
The Vic was such a jerk it was kinda funny to see him get obliterated. ( I mean... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttt??? )
GREAT MOVIE!
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM
So mid.
Clone girl was SUPER weird. None of it made sense, even after Dominion. The overall movie was just DEPRESSING too: the dinosaur getting left behind on the island as it blew to shreds, ya know... stuff like that...
Could have been better.
Also been a long time since I've seen this one, too. ( I might go back and update this review later after I watch it again ๐ )
JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION
Terrible. Just... terrible.
The second movie set up Dominion SO WELL with all the dinosaurs escaping to the outside world. But that was not at all what actually happened. I had such high expectations for this film and it all just sorta came crashing down the second I saw Jeff Goldblum's smug face.
Like I said already, the clone girl, ( I don't even remember her name ๐ญ ) had such an unsatisfying ending. None of it made any sense in my tiny little brain.
All the stuff with the the grasshoppers ( Or whatever it was... I may or may not have dozed off a little bit... ๐ ) was so flipping BORING. Also, I know they were trying to be super dramatic and cool by having the original actors back but as the wise @rbrasington once said: "You were in the first one, and you should never have been in this one." ( Pure brilliance ๐ค )
Sorry y'all, but it could have been even MORE better than Fallen Kingdom could have been.
Now that you've got the picture of where I stand on the franchise, let's talk about the upcoming movie, Rebirth.
Rebirth.
The only thing I can think of whenever someone says that word is the Call Of Duty game mode. ( My brain might not be functioning correctly... someone please send help... ๐ )
The movie is set to release on July 2, 2025 with Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali as the lead roles. I have... mixed feelings about this decision to make a sequel AND for the choice of actors.
Let's start with the whole sequel thing. What I don't get is that Dominion was meant to be the "end of an era" with the original cast back in action and it being the final movie in the Jurassic saga. So much hype. So much excitement.
Then 2 years after the "ending of an era" ๐, they announce another movie.
It's so stupid. I mean, I guess I'm not SURPRISED because this has happened, time and time again:
AVENGERS: ENDGAME ( 3 1/2 MONTHS LATER ) SPIDER MAN: FAR FROM HOME
X-MEN: THE LAST STAND ( 5 YEARS LATER ) X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
SHREK: FOREVER AFTER ( 15 YEARS LATER ) SHREK 5
...you get the point.
It's kinda depressing, to be honest. Fans get so pumped up for the ending of a super popular franchise like Jurassic World, and then they end up announcing another 2 weeks later.
I also feel like it's kind of weird how they made it called "Jurassic WORLD: Rebirth". Instead of using the came name as the past 3 films, why not make something new like...
JURASSIC UNIVERSE
...or something. ( As you can see, I'm not that creative... ๐ )
Now, let's look at the choice of actors. WHERE DID CHRIS PRATT, MY SIGMA GO?!? Will this film even tie into the others? ( I'll get to that in a second; calm down, @Jehtt... ๐ )
Scarlett Johansson is super overrated in my opinion and then the other guy, Muhammad Ali or whatever, I don't even recognize. It feels SUPER weird to swap out Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas for these guys. Both of them were great in these movies and I can't even imagine Scarlett Johansson hiding from a dinosaur.
After Dominion, I kind of lost a lot of hope in the franchise so this one HAS to be amazing.
The plot was reflected along with 2 images from the film and a brand new logo a while back on Jurassic World's official website:

PLOT:
Next summer, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, the enduring Jurassic series evolves in an ingenious new direction with Jurassic World Rebirth.
Anchored by iconic action superstar Scarlett Johansson, breakthrough talent Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar® winner Mahershala Ali, this action-packed new chapter sees an intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air. Also starring acclaimed international stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the film is directed by dynamic visualist Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Academy Award® nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.
...wow.
I don't think I actually read this description all the way through until just now. ( After seeing that, I'm kinda hooked... ๐คจ )
I feel like in all these movies, the dinosaurs escape somehow and then everyone gangs up on them and get chomped to bits but in this movie, it seems as though the HUMANS are going after the DINOSAURS, searching for their DNA or whatever.
Apparently, this film is supposed to be a REBOOT of the Jurassic World franchise but, I bet everyone's gonna take it as a sequel. We've seen THAT before... ( Wink, Wink )
Also, it would make absolutely no sense for it to be a reboot because in the opening words of the plot description, it literally says: "Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion..."
.............................................................they're gonna have some explaining to do. ๐๐๐
I'm actually getting very excited for this film. I think it will show a side of the franchise we have not gotten to see yet AND open a door of whole new possibilities for...
JURASSIC UNIVERSE
...sorry. You know I had to do it again.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed!
