World Chess Championship 2013.How Magnus Carlsen became the 16th world chess champion?

The World Chess Championship match in 2013 was between Vishwanathan Anand and young Magnus Carlsen. That event took place in Anand’s hometown,in Chennai,India.

But first of all,let’s see how Magnus Carlsen quilafied to play for the world chess champion title.                                                                                                     

Candidates tournament:

Magnus was one of the favorites in the candidates tournament 2013. In the first part of the tournament, Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen were leading. But in the second part , Aronian was struggling, so Kramnik and Carlsen could only win. In the last round, both Magnus and Vladimir hat 8.5 points. But Carlsen had better tie-breaks. 
In the last round of candidates tournament, Carlsen faced Peter Svidler. After a long game, Magnus lost to him due the time pressure . And everyone thought that Kramnik will be the challenger for the championship title against Anand,but Ivanchuk, who was playing against Vladimir in the last round also defeated Him.

As I mentioned before, Carlsen had better tie-breaks and by that he won the candidates tournament 2013 and became a challenger for the world chess champion title.

In the evening of the same day,World Champion Viswanathan Anand wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations to Magnus! He always comes through. Vladimir made a huge impression with his play, but what can you do about this tiebreak?”

World Chess Championship Match:

From 7 to 25 November the whole chess world was spectating this match between 22 year old Magnus Carlsen and 15th chess champion Viswanathan Anand. 
In the first 4 games, Magnus was so nervous, nobody seen him like that, Carlsen was in a huge psychological pressure.But luckily his father and sister cheered him up,and Magnus started showing all his skills. In the 5th game, Magnus defeated Vishy.  Magnus Carlsen won the match 6½–3½ after ten of the twelve scheduled games, becoming the new world chess champion.
Also Anand lost a rematch to Carlsen in 2014 after winning the 2014 Candidates Tournament.

Now Magnus Carlsen is a real super star in the chess world. Since 2022, he started to get involved in poker and other activities besides chess with success.He was also a model. He was once in TOP 100 most handsome men in the world.
Everyone knows that unfortunately,Magnus Carlsen refused to play the match for the world title, but despite this, he remains an active player and continues to delight his fans with his impeccable games.
