Using correspondence chess in order to try new openings, analyzing a Four Knights Italian Game

Tired of playing like absolute trash, I decided to seek out a correspondence game, in which I would have a very long time to think about each of my moves. Having such a long time to decide upon each of my moves, I figured this would be a fantastic opportunity to try out a new opening. My opponent played e4 on move one, and instead of replying with a Sicilian as I am wont to do, I played a Petrov, which then transposed into a four knights game, and then into an Italian. In this game, my opponent made a mistake fairly early, which I had seen in one of my other correspondence games, so I was able to capitalize with 10...d5.
