
Endgame Skewer
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post regarding The Skewer.
In Chess, a skewer is an attack by a long range piece of multiple targets on the same rank, file or diagonal.
Here is another example:
In this position, the game came down to an endgame pawn race that I won. I was able to play what I have come to call, "The Waitzkin Skewer." This, of course, is in honor of Joshua Waitzkin, who was the subject of the Movie, "Searching for Bobby Fischer."
