An Unbelievable New Idea in the Mainline Dragon (9.0-0-0)

A few weeks ago, I saw the total solar eclipse over North America. It was an incredible, surreal experience. Yet what made it even more memorable was coincidentally, the night before the eclipse, I found something equally rare and hard to believe: An opening bomb against 9.0-0-0 in the Dragon.

9.0-0-0 is the modern mainline of the Dragon, and it's infamous for being the bane of every Dragon player's existence. White simply clips the Dragon's wings, keeping the position solid and often trading down multiple sets of pieces, including the "fire-breathing" bishop on g7. Black is often saddled with a worse structure and with a position that is either too boring or close to losing if Black tries to prevent exchanges. For example:

Ever since I started playing the Dragon, I've been re-checking the 9.0-0-0 line in hopes of finding a good novelty for Black. Finally, I think I've found what I've been looking for. I usually keep such ideas for myself, but I think this one is too interesting not to share, and I'd like to take some credit for it  Let's take a look!

The Novelty

Hope you enjoyed the idea. It's probably one of my favorite discoveries of all time. When I was a kid, I always dreamed of finding a novelty like this in the 9.0-0-0 Dragon mainline. I suppose I just had to wait until the technology could advance far enough to uncover ideas like this. Either that, or I just had to wait until a total solar eclipse
