Changing My Username
After using the ih8sens handle on this, and many other, sites for the last decade, I've made the decision to change my username.
For those who don't know, I originally picked the name mostly because of its widespread availability across several sites. The name had a double meaning: "I hate sens", an NHL hockey team that used to be a constant rival of my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, and "I hate sense", which basically referred to my aversion to thinking during a chess game.
Of course, most people did not understand this username and so from the perspective of others, my name was simply "I hate ... something". I don't like the impression that this leaves on people who watch my youtube videos, my streams, or read my blog.
And so I have officially changed my username (across most platforms) to MapleDanish (MapleDanishChess on twitch). The name MapleDanish is a shout out to my dogs, as well as to my Canadian heritage. It still blows my mind how many non-Canadians have never had anything with maple syrup, let alone a maple danish.
Anyway, I hope you all like my new handle (or are complete unmoved).
