Event #20 Shadow Knight
This is an event that is part of a variant called event chess. More about event chess can be read here.
Event #20 Shadow Knight
Condition: At least 1 knight for each player. Starting this event does not cause any player to be in check.
Knights and pieces adjacent to a knight are transparent to pieces allied to the knight. A transparent piece can be moved through as if the piece was not there.
Pieces standing on the marked blue squares becomes transparent to pieces allied to whites knight.
Example 1:
Whites knight is transparent to allied pieces, so moves like Rc1, Rd1 or 0-0-0 are legal.
Example 2:
Blacks knight is transparent to allied pieces, but this does not affect whites pieces. White can not play Rc1.
Example 3:
Whites knights are making the pieces on b2, c4, d4, d2, f1, f2, g2, h2 and h1 transparent to allied pieces. White can play Bxh6 and move through the queen on d2. White can also play Rxh6 and move through the pawn on h2.
Example 4:
Black is checkmated. Whites knight is transparent to whites bishop, so black is in check. If black would try Rg7, blacks rook would become transparent, to whites pieces, so that would not save black either.
