Event #30 Drunken Bishops
This is an event that is part of a variant called event chess. More about event chess can be read here.
Event #30 Drunken Bishops
Condition: At least 1 bishop for each player. Starting this event does not cause a player to be in check.
Bishops must make a 90 degree turn after moving 1 square in a diagonal direction.
The diagram above shows how the bishop can move.
Example 1:
Whites bishop can capture blacks rook with Bxa8 (the bishop makes a turn at the g2 square).
White is not able to play a move like Bd3 or Bh3, since it needs to make a turn on e2 or g2.
Example 2:
Blacks king is not in check since if whites bishop moves towards it, it must make a turn at f7.
Whites bishop is pinned, so moves like Bf5 or Bg6 are not legal. However, white is allowed to play Be4 or Bxe8.
