Event #93 Takebacks
This is an event that is part of a variant called event chess. More about event chess can be read here.
Event #93 Takebacks
Condition: None
A player can choose to take back their opponents previous move. Then the opponent needs to make a different legal move (with any piece). A takeback is possible with these requirements:
- Each player can only use takebacks up to 3 times.
- Only one takeback is possible for one move (For example only one takeback on whites 5th move).
- A takeback is not possible if the opponent has no other legal moves
- Both players need to make at least one move after this event starts before the first takeback can happen.
Example 1:
Black tries to play Nxh5. If both players have made at least one move after the event started, then white can take back that move. White chooses to do so. Black takes back the move and must make a different move. Black plays d5. White has 2 takebacks left, but white can not take back d5 since he has already taken back a move once on this move.
Example 2:
Black plays Kxf7. Despite white having 2 take backs left, he cannot take back blacks move since black has no legal move other than Kxf7.
