
The Old Tricks #7: A Loss by a Boss, an Evergreen Brilliance
I worked for the Internet-only daily chess newspaper, now unfortunately defunct, Chess Today, for many years: 2001-2014. Typically, in our daily issues we annotated the most interesting new games. But sometimes there were no ongoing major tournaments and nothing special was found in other ongoing events. So, there was no other way than to examine something older. Once I even annotated a truly brilliant game which was unfortunately lost by our editor-in-chief, GM Alex Baburin. And I was not fired immediately afterwards, for which I'm grateful.
