
Jaiswal & Joshi Lead at Nepal National Chess Championships
With a sole lead of 4.5/5 points, FIDE Master Rupesh Jaiswal is currently leading the 25th National Chess Championship 2025. Likewise, with 4.5/5 points, Sindira Joshi is dominating the championship in the women's division. Each player has four victories and one draw. The sixth and seventh round games of both categories will be played tomorrow.

Jaiswal defeated the defending champion Rajan Subedi in an equal position where the latter missed a major detail about back rank.
FM Kshitij Bhandari suffered a major set back against Dhiren Rai in Round 3 who found perfect sequence of moves to take advantage of the pin in d file.
Sushrut Dahal came back strongly after his defeat in Round one to score 3.5 in 4 rounds. He defeated Aashish Phuyal in a tactical battle.

Women's Section
Sindira Joshi Leads the pack with the silm lead of 0.5 with Angel Maharjan and Binita Kapali Chasing her with 4 Points. She missed a win today in much better position and settled for a draw.
Angel Maharjan suffered defeat by hands of Punam Parsain after winning 4 games in a row.
