Chess.com Staff Profiles: Vitaly!
Hi everyone! Today we hear from Vitaly, one of our Backend developers!
What is your name?
Vitaly. This is a roman name. It means "vital", but is pronounced as /ˈvɪtali/.

Where do you live?
Russia, Anapa town. It is located on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. Russian California ))

How long have you worked for Chess.com and what do you do?
Since May 2015. I am in charge of backend things of the site: tournaments, club matches, puzzles etc.
What do you like about working at Chess.com?
Freedom -- I can choose anything to do, but after I close high-priority issues ))
Tricky or even weird issues -- they break my mind and this is my way to escape trivial life. Every day is magic!
Chess -- indeed this is game of life (who said this?), playing chess teaches to think before moving.. and after ))
What are your other hobbies and interests?
First of all I am a family guy. My children is my first priority, they are my immortality, they are the next rocket stage in my genealogical branch.
I am trying to learn different social aspects of our life, that is why I read a lot about history, economy, politics and other social sciences.
I also enjoy listening to music, bbq, hiking, handwork (creating wine or furniture), visiting relatives etc.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I think any superpower is kind of endless or priceless resource -- it corrupts. And this is the price, it is too high for me 8-)
0-0 or 0-0-0
I prefer 0-0 due to less number of moves, but the board situation decides how to castle.

Thank you Vitaly for all that you do! and thank you Chess.com for reading!
