Two Titled Tuesday Tournaments On March 6
Chess.com will host two Titled Tuesday tournaments on March 6 with a total prize pool of $3,500 to make up for the canceled February event.
Both tournaments are open to all titled players, and everyone can watch live coverage of the events at Twitch.tv/chess and Chess.com/TV on March 6 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific.
Titled players can sign up for each tournament in live chess before each event.
On February 6, Chess.com was forced to cancel the Titled Tuesday tournament due to an overwhelming amount of traffic on our live chess server.
While we were initially uncertain about why our server was overwhelmed, we were later able to identify the issue being related to how we messaged our members about titled-player games, and with more titled players and members online than ever before, the server could not handle it.
We have already fixed the issue. We sincerely apologize to the fans and players who were looking forward to the event.
To compensate for the canceled event, Chess.com is hosting two events in March, each with the usual prize pool of $1,500. There will be an early event at the usual time of 1 p.m. Pacific and a late event at 5 p.m. Pacific (9 p.m. GMT and 1 a.m. GMT).
Instead of our usual $100 for the best chess stream, we are giving $500 in prizes for streamers (participants or fans) who provide their own coverage of this Titled Tuesday. The streamer prize pool is for the day, not for each event.
The prizes on March 6 will be the same for both the early and late events:

The additional streamer prizes:
• Top-viewed first-person, participant stream (not Twitch.tv/chess): $100
• Top-viewed non-participant (fan) stream: $100
• Best Chess.com staff-voted first-person, participant stream: $100
• Best Chess.com staff-voted non-participant (fan) stream: $100
• Fan vote for best stream via Twitter (nominees chosen by Chess.com staff): $100
