Dear chess community,

As many of you know, we hosted a Titled Tuesday Crash Party on April 3 to test our new server updates. Our developer team really came through for us (and you!) and it had no issues to report.

As such, we're pleased to announce our biggest Titled Tuesday event ever! We have $5,000 in prizes available to top performers. We're also giving out $750 in cash prizes to the top streamers.

All titled players are invited to join us on April 17 at 1 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m. UTC time) for this supersized Titled Tuesday tournament.

Now that we're confident our systems can handle to heavy load of games and viewers, we want to make up for the lost events of previous months. We've taken the prize money from past months, plus this month, and added $1,250 as a bonus.

Here is the format for the mega Titled Tuesday event on April 17:

  • 10-round Swiss with a time control of three minutes plus two seconds increment.
  • The tournament begins at 1 p.m. Pacific time (8 p.m. UTC time) and will be broadcast on Chess.com/TV and Twitch.tv/chess
  • IM Daniel Rensch is hosting for your viewing pleasure!

The prize pool is $5,000:

  • $2,000 for first
  • $1,200 for second
  • $800 for third
  • $600 for fourth
  • $400 for fifth

The $750 prize pool for streamers:

  • $250 for most-viewed titled player stream
  • $150 for second most-viewed titled player stream
  • $100 for third most viewed titled player stream
  • $100 fan vote (Twitter poll) for best Titled Player stream (not placing in top 3 for viewership)
  • $100 for most-viewed non-titled player commentary stream
  • $50 for second most-viewed non-titled player commentary stream

Will you be watching our biggest Titled Tuesday ever? Perhaps you'll use it as a chance to stream commentary yourself? (Click here for information on getting started with Chess.com and Twitch.)
