Today we will discuss one of my favorite games, Bobby Fischer vs. Samuel Reshevsky, 1958. The young Bobby Fischer played a magnificent game, outplaying Reshevsky in just 10 Moves! Let's see how he did it!

Fischer playing white, starts with e4! As he once said 1.e4 "best by test!" Reshevsky as black, responded with 1.c5 the Sicilian Defense! Fischer responds with Nc3 and Reshevsky goes for the Accelerated Dragon, one of my favorite openings! Fischer goes for d4 the open Sicilian, Bb5, the Rossolimo was also possible.

Fischer and Reshevsky continued to develop, to the common position shown above, I've played this opening as black many times, Reshevsky played the move 0-0.

Although Reshevsky castled, there is a move Qa5 which can lead to a lot of traps, I like to play this line because even some very strong players such as 2000's fall for some of these traps. 0-0 is the slightly safer move and Qa5 hadn't been developed at the time of the game I believe. Black is also setting a trap with 0-0.

Fischer plays a tricky move, Bb3, he invites black to play the move Na5 attacking the bishop, but Fischer has a trick up his sleeve, that we will soon see! Unfournanetly for Reshevsky, he took the bait and played Na5.

An amazing trap by the young Bobby Fischer who defeated a very strong player Samuel Reshevsky! One of my favorite games of all time! I hope you enjoyed this legendary match. Thanks for stopping by to read my blog! This is my first ever blog so if you have any tips comment them, Thanks!
