HELLO EVERYONE

My name is Soham Bhattacharyya and I am a very passionate chess player like you all. If you want to know more info about me check out my Chess.com profile. I am currently 15 years old and playing chess for 5 years, and in these 5 years of chess I have seen a lot of players both masters and normal players. I have realized that the playing style of all players are not at all the same. These are the two ways players play in the middlegame :

1. Middlegame Dynamics - If you play International Tournaments atleast twice a year you will observe a lot of top Grand Masters playing certain openings like the London System or the Sicilian Dragon to bring lower rated opponents into a fight of middlegame dynamics. Obviously a serious player wont blunder in the opening so middlegame and endgame are the only two phases of the game where players in general make mistakes or even decisive blunders. If you are interested and want to know more on this topic please check out my friend MessiKingdom blog.

2. Positional Play - This is the topic which I am going to discuss. I myself play Openings which lead to positional structures and it will be easier for me to analyse and bring the best to you guys. All Grand Masters dont prefer middlegame dynamics since there is a chance that they can also blunder instead they go for sound openings like the Catalan and the English System and keep on playing the game positionally until their opponents make a slight mistake and they can just purely convert into a full point. There is a saying that chess is 90% tactics and 10% positional play but this 10% should be improved so that it can be applicable.

I am going to post one game each from my next blog where i will try to completely analyse the positional part of the game and also slight tactics which will be there.(Remember you cant play the full game by just playing positional chess you will definitely need tactics or what we call dynamics). At the end of the each Blog I will post a Position where I will ask to find a positional plan and give the answer in the comments section which will relate to the game shown and I will post the solution in the next blog. I will try my best to improve your positional chess.

Also if u want to solve position (both tactical and positional) everyday you can join our Discord Server where we post positions almost daily and also allow the members to have the liberty of discussing other topics also.

This is a chess.com club which organizes a lot of Strong Tournaments and I will recommend you to join this club.

And this is their official discord server :
