Daily Chess Championship

Let the fun begin! That is what I thought when I signed up for the chess.com daily chess championship. I knew it would be a good experience for me to get into chess as the new year began. The games began today and I have a FM in my group! I am excited to challenge him as he is the highest rated in my group. The next highest is a 1600. I think I have a chance at second or third in my group (I am the fifth seed, but am underrated in daily chess).

So far, my games have begun with Sicilians, Scotchs, and Queens Gambits. These will all give me a good chance to nail down my theory in these more common openings. I also think these games will give me a good chance to develop my middle game theory.

I hope lots of you guys joined this tournament and maybe just maybe if I get to the second or third round I will get a chance to play you! Here is my group:
