The scourge of online chess- Bad Internet Connections
What is the one thing that everyone hates about online chess? Bad internet!
I recently was playing my NSPBCL games against @Mi_Amigo. This was a finals match, and If I won we would most likely win and become champions. We were to play 4 games and the winner of the four won their mini match. These points then carry over to their main teams match. In the first game I hung an exchange but held on for a draw while in time pressure. (thanks to my connection) The second game I was once again in time trouble, but I was winning. He flagged me, but if I had .3 second on my clock I would have been able to trade off the remaining pieces and draw again. Now I was down 1.5 to .5 and If I lost again I would lose the match. The next game I played well and won in an endgame. The last game would decide it then. In the opening I managed to hang my queen (high level play) but slowly came back. I was once again under time pressure. I had 17 seconds in a 3 2 game so every move I got more time! Suddenly I had a lag spike and the clocks began to flash. My internet had gone out!!!! I lost that game and the mini match, but my team managed to hold a draw and we are currently doing tiebreak matches!
Here are the games if you want to see my trash play!!
