A review after 8 months in chess membership & chess.com

  • In Chess.com a system of rewards exists  encouraging players to keep pursuing chess as a hobby. I currently have 34 achievements racked up & might be a reason to even renew membership in a few months. Plus people 65 & older get a discount off the chess.com membership.
  • The stats section allows a player to monitor performance, & even reset the stats when necessary for a fresh beginning, It would appear that difficulty levels can be adjusted to a player's desired game play.
  • Blogging is allowed for a player's notes & comments on the hobby of chess or sport for the professional. A certain amount of formatting of the blog is available to improve the appearance & skill of the blogger. Using the bullet feature, alignment of the lines, & inserting of images is possible.
  • Chess.com has articles & tutorials which are useful for improving game play. Is there a suggestion feature available ?
  • Through the various chess clubs some really interesting, entertaining, & good people are out in the world & it would seem add to the Chess.com world experience.

Chess has many parallels to life, perhaps it is a learning tool for life. I don't know if chess will save the world of all it's problems, it tests  a player in different ways. It can be frustrating at times. Above all  it should be a game for people around the world to develop friendships & something to enjoy but to not take too seriously. Wishing everyone well who plays this for fun or professionally,  Jan. 22, 2020
