He says he doesn’t miss her,
but her birthdate is still his password.
He says he has moved on,
but he still doesn't find other girls attractive — only her.
He says he hates her,
but the truth is, he could never hate her.
He says she should go to hell,
but he actually just wants her to be happy forever.
He says he’s a tough man who wants to be left alone,
but all he really wants is for her to hold him in her arms.
He says he doesn't mess with love and relationships,
but all he wants is for her to love him the way he loves her.
He says he doesn’t care anymore,
but he still checks his phone hoping for her name to appear.
He says he’s better off without her,
but every song still sounds like a memory of her voice.
He says he’s too busy chasing dreams,
but all his dreams still carry her smile.
He says she’s just a chapter closed,
but she’s the whole damn story he can't stop rereading.
He says he’s numb to it all now,
but every quiet night is just him breaking inside a little more.
He says he’s stronger now,
but every strength he built was just to hide his broken heart.
He says he doesn’t believe in forever,
but deep down, he still hopes she'll come back and prove him wrong.
