3rd place in the First Saturday Master Tourney | Grunfeld fight

In round 8 I played with International Master Sándor Kustár from Hungary. He played the agressive Grundfeld opening to attack my center.

I missed his Nc6-d4 manover which equalized the game. Rd1 was important to prevent the Nd4 idea.

After the massexchanges, only a few pieces remained on the kingside and soon we finished the game with a draw:

In round 9 I played with International Master Attila Jakab. He played the Reti opening and I replied with the solid Slav setup with d5-c6 and Bg4. When He wanted to gain space in the center with e2-e4 I prevented it with Bf5 and after his Nh4 I went back to g4 to save my bishop. then He went back to f3 to play e2-e4 and I moved the bishop to f5 top prevent it and we repeated the moves 4 times and agreed on a draw:

I got 3rd place and won 12 rating points. I am happy about the result as I played draws also against the 1st and 2nd players and in both games I got an advantage.
