My Brilliancy Prize win from 1990 US Amateur Team Championship West
Back in February 1990, I briefly had a 2300+ rating and was drafted into a team with a high average rating, 2195 for the US Amateur Team Championship West.. We also had a gimmick to try for the best promotional prize, we would dress up as the Four Muskateers. We had a team photo published in the May 1990 Chess Life, as well as my game, unnanotated. The following year, I suggested we dress up as court jesters and call ourselves the Fool's Mates. I ended up joining a different team and the Fool's Mates made the Chess Life cover.
Anyway, my second round game just seemed to play itself as my opponent quickly weakened his position. It was judged by IM Jack Peters as the winner of the Herman Steiner Brilliancy prize. Mr. Steiner, one of America's top players 1930's to 1950's, hosted the Hollywood Chess, and members included Actors Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. See if you can guess any of my moves....

The game can be found on chess databases, but they have the name of my opponent wrong.
All notes by IM Jack Peters. Date on game should show 1990, not 2014.
