Yui Is Love #3
A Yui a day keeps all your problems away, so let's have another Yui blog! I'd like to start today's blog by quoting TrolledYou's post in the previous Yui blog:
"And also, I kinda think that Yui grows on you as a character. At first, she comes off as hopelessly shy, klutzy, and immature. (Sacrilege!!!)
But she starts stepping out of her comfort zone, and tries really hard to be a better person— despite all those tea parties. And I really admire that. But, she still remains unmistakably Yui. Ui will probably be more "sensible" than her sister; that's okay, too. Because Yui is Yui."
WOAH WOAH WOAH, HOLD IT, I HEAR YOU SAY! TEA PARTIES, UI, KLUTZY? TOO FAST, I HEAR YOU SAY! I DIDN'T WATCH THE SHOW, PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE THINGS, I HEAR YOU SAY!
Okay, fine, let's go from the top and cover the background. But until tomorrow you have got to watch the show mate! You won't regret it!
Anyway, basically the first time we meet Yui she is just about to start her first day in high school. Worried about the responsibilities that brings onto her and how she is worried she may not be able to find the right path for herself, she relies on her friend Nodoka Manaba to guide her. Having been friends since they were little, and now being in the same class, obviously Nodoka and Yui are very close.
Here's a photo from Yui's and Nodoka's graduation from junior high. CUTE!
So what does Nodoka do? SHE THREATENS YUI THAT IF SHE DOESN'T JOIN A CLUB SHE'LL BECOME A NEET! DID YOU HEAR THAT?? A NEET!!! RUDE, NODOKA! NOBODY LIKED YOU ANYWAY! THE BEST THING YOU DID IN THE SHOW WAS LET YUI BORROW YOUR GLASSES. Yui looked really cute in them. Thank you for that, Nodoka...
I'll save the details for later, but Yui has a bit of a hard time finding a club; she doesn't really know where she belongs or what she wants to do at this point. She just wants to lull around. Poor Yui hasn't found herself yet.
Furthermore, Yui has a sister, Ui who takes care of Yui and looks after her. Although Ui is one year younger than Yui, Ui is the responsible sister of the two, and indeed without her, Yui would be in a lot of trouble!
All in all, these things contribute to Yui, although sweet as an angel as she always is, also coming across as a bit of a klutz, who's irresponsible and a bit hopeless. As we saw in the opening quote, however, this changes as Yui grows as a person throughout the show. Following her journey is magical and really heartwarming. And Yui grows on you, at the same time as Yui grows as a person. IT'S SUCH A WONDERFUL FEELING, I LOVE IT! DO YOU KNOW THAT FEELING??
Of course all of this will become clearer as we go further along in the blog and I can share more of my favourite things about Yui, so you too, can be convinced that Yui truly is best girl! More on that on the next Yui blog, dear Yuibros!
Daily reminder that Yui is love.
(That was a long post, wasn't it? If you read all the way through, please tell me: have you seen K-On! or have you yet to actually watch the show? If you have seen it, did you finish it or how far into it have you got? When did you first get into K-On! Thanks in advance! Stay awesome Yuibros!)
