Today's Daily Puzzle 8/21/20: Reach Your Full Potential

Hello Puzzlers!

In today's daily puzzle it's clear that black needs to work up some magic. He's down an entire rook so playing passively will not yield good results.

What black does have going for him however is that his queen and bishop are very well placed. They're in attacking mode and ready to strike. The only piece that's not quite in the game yet is the black rook but it seems to have some great potential. It's staring down the rank of the enemy king. If only there was some way to unleash its full potential...

Today's puzzle is a good reminder of an important lesson when playing chess. If you're down a serious amount of material, it will not suffice to play passively and hope your opponent makes a mistake. You need to create dynamic and potentially explosive chances that are challenging for your opponent to navigate. Don't just throw your arms up in the air and wait for your opponent to crush you. Make your pieces work for you!

Twitch Update
