Today's Daily Puzzle 9/5/2020: Rook To Where?!

Ah Saturdays. The hardest day for the daily puzzle. What is it that makes a puzzle hard? There's a lot of ways. It could be that the calculation requirement is minimal but it's very hard to find the right idea. Or it could be there's a move that's extremely counter-intuitive that you must force your brain to think outside the box to find it. Or it could be there's a string of moves that are logical only because there's one final move that is hard to see works.

In today's case it is the latter. The first handful of moves for this puzzle kind of make...sense. But only because they build up to the move that frankly stumped me for a while. But after going over the puzzle again and again and making alternate moves, it's clear why this move works. That move is the stunning Rf7!!. Did today's puzzle stump you? Don't worry, it likely stumped many people. You know it's a tough puzzle when even after the solution you find your asking yourself "Wait...What?"
