French defense: The introduction of the series

The French defense is an old opening, but it’s play is sharp and aggresiv. And in this series i will take you through the main idea of The French defense.

The French defense starts with 1. e4 e6

And the most popoular also the best respond is 2. d4, and the main idea in the French defense is to use your pawn to break white’s big pawn center. So ….2. d5 is the best respond.

After 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5, white has 4 main option. And they Are 3. e5 the avdance variation of the French defense, 3. exd5 the exchange variation of the French defense(also the most boring variation), 3. Nc3 the classical variation and 3. Nd2 the Tarrasch variation.
