World Championship Blunders

A Gift or a Blunder? chesspawn When Gukesh thanked and looked up trough the ceiling with his sight, then after was the moment that became a gift. All of the streamers were so sure that we would have a tiebreak as previous championships; they were even saying good bye to the audience or fooling around with Chat, we didn´t have any doubts that in particular another day of losing sleep was on the cook! (due to my timezone: MEX). But a sudden gasp echo flooded the online World of Chess, then after THE EVIL BAR said: massive Blunder!!, tear poor Ding! I hope next time we have the heart rate pulse showing on the stream. (Please FIDE blogs). Do you want to revive those moments? I´ll be happy to please you: Reactions on YouTube.

Now let´s focus on the Blunders within the World Chess Championships:

It is 1892 Chigorin versus Steinitz, yes the one and only that said that would give God the odd of a pawn.

Now our mecenas and chess killer Bobby Fischer in 1972 against Boris Spassky. Yes that Bobby guy that discovered America after Cristobal Colombus, with chess obviously.

The powerfull pursued by the Nazis Alexander Alekhine in 1937 against the mathemagician and former Fide President Max Euwe. Both missed the tactic not once but twice!

The Toilet Gate in 2006 by the well known and polemic GM Vladimir Kramnik against GM Vesselin Topalov (He speaks spanish so fluent by the way), and infamous match that went on with serious accusations towards Kramnik team where they found wires in the toilet grin. Is that why he is so keen to report cheaters? Does he encover any guilt sentiment? I´ll leave that clue so you can make your own conclusions wink.

Do you guys want an endgame? there we go, we move to 1929 Alexander Alekhine vs Efim Bogoljuvob

My favourite player Anatoly Karpov vs The Terrible Victor Korchnoi another pursued but this one by the Soviet regime, had a big struggle in his life to be honest.

Hi Vishy Anand! the Tiger and chief key of the Indian Chess era. You didn´t avoid this list neither the best player in the world by far Magnaninum Carlsen in their 1st match in 2014.

The no bluff face Nepo against Carlsen in Dubai 2021, that game actually caused Carlsen to almost hate the World Championship  matches. Have you seen the disgusted attitude of Carlsen reacting to Nepo´s blunder? I´m pretty sure he thought - Did I prepare so hard for this? See the reaction of Anish Giri and Judit Polgar

There will be more blunders in future matches as the players will push the game to tire the opponent, Gukesh said it himself -I wanted to tired down my opponent. Now this keeps the door open to "Do not resign", "Keep pushing!"

It´s done! Had 2 options at my former job:

  • One: stay and be unhappy.
  • Second: stay true to my goals.

I chose to stay true to my passion for chess. Follow me in this journey, If you have the same feelings live them thru my story.
