Staircase checkmate

Hi there! Today I am going to be showing you how to do a staircase checkmate. This is an easy endgame checkmate that requires the opponent to be low on pieces. This simple endgame is perfect for you if you still have either rooks or queens. (or you could use them together!). Here is a game:

As you can see, the king has no where to go.

 Now, you do need to take out a fair few of the opponent's pieces before you do this, because other pieces (even pawns) can block this checkmate and make the game longer. Have fun!
